Welcome to my "The Angel Company" Blog

I am an independent demonstrator for The Angel Company. TAC carries a wonderful variety of rubber stamps and our own scrapbook papers. You can also purchase inks, chalks, tools, etc.
I am located in the Kansas City KS area and I also have a home on the Lake of the Ozarks in Warsaw MO. I would love to have you host a FunShop to learn a new stamping or card making technique or style. Have a few friends in and have some crafting fun. Hostesses can earn free and half priced items. I can also take orders if you do not wish to have a FunShop.

As promised!

This is my first attempt at using the ScorPal to make a plaid pattern on the cardstock. It was fairly easy to do and went quickly. I then used the leaf from the stamp set "For All Seasons" and DewDrop ink pads in copper, red brick, pesto and pumpkin spice. I checkered the leaves but the colors were placed randomly.

Then I used a Q-tip with the pumpkin spice and copper inks and brushed it between the raised lines.
It needs some practice, but I am very pleased with the overall effect!

ScorPal and ScorBuddy!

I just got home from a wonderful trip to Dallas to celebrate my grandson's 4th birthday! One of my emails was a link to a ScorPal demonstration at CHA. It is a StampTV video and has a wonderful tutorial on making a plaid pattern on your paper using a ScorPal or ScorBuddy and the ScorBug. I'm going to try it and will post my creation in the next few days. I wanted to share it with you quickly.

Hedgehog Pumpkin Patch - Masking Technique

The hedgehog is back. This time his wagon is filled with pumpkins. I used the masking technique on this card so that the trees could be stamped behind the little hedgehog and his wagon without overlapping the lines. This is another technique that you could choose to have as the activity at your FunShop.

There are several sets of stamps with Halloween, Fall and Thanksgiving themes. Check on line or contact me for more information. Have a FunShop and get the stamps for free or half price!

Hedgehog Birthday

This is an ordinary rectangular card. I used the cute Hedgehog Happiness (Hostess Level C) and Hello for All Seasons (Hostess Level B) stamp sets. The Hedgehog Happiness set includes several different wagon loads. Besides the pile of gifts (which can be colored for birthday, new baby or Christmas) there is a Christmas tree, pumpkins and hearts among others. The Hello for All Seasons is versatile too. Besides the cupcake to make the center of the "O" there is a kitty, a pumpkin, a flower....  The background paper is from the Tuscany Spice pack. I used many Copic markers to color the images. The crystals are not from TAC, but there are similar ones in the new catalog.

Sketch Challenge

As a continuation of the last post, entering challenges is a great way to improve on your card-making skills. This card is for a sketch challenge at Crafty Hos' Challenge. You follow the general pattern given for the card. Choose your own papers, images, and sentiments.
Designed with: Papers & Tags from The Angel Company: Hemingway pack
Stamps: The Angel Company: Furry Friends & Hello for All Seasons
Copics: Strong Red

Challenges

Besides making cards for personal use - relatives' Birthdays, New Baby in the neighborhood, Get Well, or Just Because  - it is fun to enter cards in on-line challenges. There are many of them out there. Some are connected to Internet stores, but many are run by groups of people wanting to have some fun. It is a good way to stretch your talents.
I entered this card - made with The Angel Company products in a challenge at My Time To Craft. The criteria was to use a butterfly. I immediately thought of this beautiful stamp in the Happily Grateful set. Mix in some Tuscany Spice paper and Tutti Frutti tag and this bright, cheerful card is the result.

As an independent Angel demonstrator I am here to help you. Need a FunShop to learn a new technique? or supplies to make that special card or scrapbook page? Please contact me.

Workshop Activity: Tea Bag Folding

One of your choices of activity when hosting a FunShop is tea bag folding. This card uses paper from the Metropolis package to make the tea bag embellishment and the swirl across the paper. Both stamps are from the Decorative Designs set featured on pg 79 in our new Inspiration Book & Catalog.
This is just one type of tea bag folding. There are many others. There are other activities you can choose from. They are listed in the left-hand column. You and each of your guests will have the opportunity to learn the technique and make a small project to take with them.

Christmas in July

Do you that like to enter challenges at various cardmaking/scrapbooking sites? I do. When I saw there was at least one challenge for a Christmas card in July, I started playing. The trees are from "Hedgehog Happiness" and Santa is from "Everyday Events". Didn't it come out nice?

Three more cards, starting to experiment

The sample card on the left was made with the darling stamp set called Boyz & Girlz. There are 3 boy stamps and 3 girl stamps plus 6 labels: sisterz, brotherz, cousinz. kidz, boyz, & girlz. I used the three boys to represent our 3 grandsons: Mason in green, Zerek in red and Max in blue.

When I was told that as a new Angel in July I would be able to choose 1 Level A, 1 Level B and 1 Level C stamp set along with the rest of the start-up kit, I knew which C set I wanted. This cute little hedgehog has a wagon. There are several stamps with things to put in the wagon. Since it is summer I used the flowers. There is also a Christmas tree, a load of Easter eggs, a load of Valentine hearts, pumpkins, etc. The sentiments are from another hostess set, Level A. You could have these wonderful stamp sets too by hosting a qualifying party.

In making this third card I inked the branch stamp with two different shades of green. It didn't show up as well as I had hoped but you can see the two tones on some of the leaves. I used the stamp set "Happily Grateful" and the sentiments (again) from "Bless Your Heart"  I'm having a lot of fun with these.

Some Basic Cards

Nothing fancy on this first pair of cards - just some basic stamping in black and colors. Some copic marker coloring and some patterned paper accents.Stamps are from "Furry Friends" "Happily Grateful" "Hedgehog Happiness" and "Hello for all Seasons" sets.
